Early glimpse at Caydon’s first West Coast project in Seattle

On Wednesday, January 10, the East Design Review Board will provide early design guidance for our new project located at 8th & Cherry Street in Seattle’s First Hill neighborhood.

It’s an exciting step for Caydon’s first West Coast project. The proposed 28-story, 204 condominium residential tower will sit alongside a Seattle architectural icon, the historic Trinity Episcopal Parish, built in 1892.

Submitted design concepts include a podium for a 300-foot tower, purposefully pushed north to provide “breathing room” with the church and maximize available space for the Memorial Garden located between the tower and church. The proposed area is described in the Early Design Guidance pack as, “a unique opportunity to create a neighborhood distinguishing project.”

Designed by the San Francisco office of Solomon Cordwell Buenz, a timeline for the project has yet to be announced, but watch this space.

The EDG meeting before the East Design Review Board is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 10, in Room 210 of the Student Center at Seattle University, 1000 E. James Way.
